Frequently Asked Questions

Why are your prices so much cheaper than my local dealer?

We use our buying power to negotiate the best possible prices and deals from all the manufacturers and pass the savings on to you. We only sell brand new items, this means they are never factory seconds, 2nd hand, refurbished or returned goods. If you find a garage door or automatic operator cheaper elsewhere please call us as we will not be beaten on price. (Terms & Conditions apply). Read our Price Promise to find out more…

How long will I have to wait for my new garage door to be delivered?

Delivery usually takes between 10 and 28 working days from your cleared funds being received depending on the style of door you have ordered, you can request a delivery update at anytime by calling 0870 950 4547. Some special order sectional garage doors can take up to 42 days. Read our Delivery Information to find out more…

How much notice will I get of the delivery date?

We will email and call you at least 3 days in advance of a delivery taking place. We will also give you the week that we expect your garage door to be delivered when you place your order. Read our Delivery Information to find out more…

Can I have a specific delivery date and time slot allocated?

As garage doors are bulky and difficult to transport, deliveries to your area are on fixed days therefore we cannot alter our delivery route, we will however give a morning or afternoon slot and the delivery driver can give you a call 1 hour in advance if requested. Read our Delivery Information to find out more…

Can I pay on delivery?

Yes, however we will require a 50% deposit with your order and you will have to agree this with our sales team in advance, unfortunately we are unable to accept this method of payment for some types of garage doors, please call customer services for advice. We are unable to accept cheques as payment on the day.

Can I collect the door?

Yes we welcome collections from our Chichester depot in West Sussex, all the address details for collection are here >>. Please input our head office address in the delivery address field when making your online payment.

Are my personal details secure?

Yes we use HSBC's SSL secure server to process your online payment and your personal details are never passed to any third party.

Am I paying VAT?

Yes we are a VAT registered UK based company and so VAT is charged at the applicable rate in force at the time of sale, all our prices are shown INCLUSIVE of VAT. See our Registered office and VAT details here >>Where can I find detailed technical information about garage doors that isn't on this site? This information is in the manufacturer's brochures which you can download here >>. Alternatively, you can either call us or visit any of the major manufacturers' websites to look up the details required.

I don't understand the difference between canopy (trackless) and retractable (tracked) Garage Doors?

The 'Opening Mechanisms' section explains the differences between the door opening systems available.

What's the difference between GRP & ABS Garage Doors?

GRP garage doors are made using fibreglass strips bonded to a steel frame for added strength. GRP doors can be either gloss white or an authentic woodgrain effect. ABS doors are made in a mould from a form of plastic and don't have a steel sub-frame, they are therefore lighter but not as strong. ABS doors are only available in white.

Can I automate a canopy door?

Yes but we do not recommend this, if possible choose a retractable door. More >>

What is included with my new garage door?

You get the garage door itself, the springs and gear to lift the door and the locking mechanism. Up & Over doors are supplied as standard with a handle unless otherwise requested. You do not get a frame unless specified. A basic fixing kit is included with the garage door, this varies depending on the manufacturer.

Do I need a frame?

Yes you will need a frame for all garage doors except sectional & roller doors, you can buy a new door and fix it to your existing frame or purchase a new frame with your door. Frames are available in primed, powder coated or plastisol coated steel. They are also available in Timber or GRP on request.

Can I get help with installation?

The garage doors and automatic operators available on this site are intended for self-installation by someone with reasonable DIY skills or by your choice of builder or tradesmen. Please see our DIY Installation Guide.

You can of course have your garage door professionally installed for you using our team of certified installers. If you would prefer to have your door and /or automatic operator professionally installed, please select the installation option at the end of the online buying process or call us now on 0870 950 45 47.
