Frames for your Garage Door
Cardale, Hormann, Garador, Novoferm & Wessex - Frame Options
A new factory frame will complete the look of your new up & over garage door.
If you choose a garage door that's available with a plastisol coated steel or GRP frame you will also benefit from a low maintenance finish to your frame.
There are several types of garage door frame available.
- Steel - Primed
- Steel - Plastisol Coated
- Steel - Factory Painted
- GRP
- Timber
The type of frame available will depend on the manufacturer of your new garage door.
Cardale, Hormann, Garador, Novoferm & Wessex are currently the only manufacturers we offer that supply factory fitted up and over garage door frames (Single sizes only). All other frames are supplied flat packed for assembly on site and are also pre-drilled making it easier for you to fit the door to them.
Most steel garage door frames are supplied in white or brown, we will provide you with the most appropriate match to your garage door, i.e. if you order a timber door we will supply a brown frame. Please specify if you require a specific colour.
If you choose a factory painted garage door, the frame will be an exact colour match, you can however specify white if prefered.
If you require a traditional 75mm x 75mm timber frame, these are supplied seperately by The Garage Door Co. These can be softwood or hardwood. Please contact us for prices.
Prices quoted on this website are for the closest matching steel frame to the garage door you have ordered, GRP & timber frames are extra, please call us for prices.
Please Note:
If your new garage door is a sectional, roller or side hinged (except Cedar Doors), these come with a frame as standard.
Cedar Doors - Frame Options
Side Hinged Doors
Supplied flat packed, these traditional 75mm x 95mm (70mm x 90mm finished size) softwood timber frames for Side hinged garage doors are dipcoat finished for protection and mortice and tenon jointed to provide additional strength and security. Pre-drilled and countersunk loose rebate stops are also supplied. Please call us for prices on fully finished Sikkens stain to match your new Cedar Door.
A hardwood version is also available, please call for prices.
Up & Over Doors
Cedar Door's Up & Over Garage Door frames are made from 75mm x 75mm (70mm x 70mm finished size) softwood timber and dipcoated as standard for protection. The joints are mortice and tenon to strengthen the frame and secure your garage. They are supplied un-assembled along with 25mm x 25mm stopbead to fix to timber head on site.
